Create Retail Product Categories

Create categories before adding products so the catalog, POS, and reports stay organized.

Steps

  1. Log in to Acel using the correct tenant.
  2. From the main dashboard, choose Retail.

    After login, start from the dashboard and enter the Retail workspace.
  3. In Catalog & Setup, choose Product categories.

  4. Click New category.

    Use categories such as Handwoven Baskets, Carved Decor, and Textiles to keep the catalog easy to browse.
  5. Enter a clear category name, then save it.

    The category form is intentionally simple: name the group, save it, then use it while creating products.
  6. Return to the list and confirm the category appears.

Use category names a cashier can recognize quickly, such as Handwoven Baskets, Carved Decor, Textiles, or Gift Sets.
