Create Retail Product Categories
Create categories before adding products so the catalog, POS, and reports stay organized.
Steps
- Log in to Acel using the correct tenant.

From the main dashboard, choose Retail.
After login, start from the dashboard and enter the Retail workspace. -
In Catalog & Setup, choose Product categories.
The Retail dashboard groups catalog setup, stock work, purchases, and sales in one workspace. -
Click New category.
Use categories such as Handwoven Baskets, Carved Decor, and Textiles to keep the catalog easy to browse. -
Enter a clear category name, then save it.
The category form is intentionally simple: name the group, save it, then use it while creating products. - Return to the list and confirm the category appears.
Use category names a cashier can recognize quickly, such as Handwoven Baskets, Carved Decor, Textiles, or Gift Sets.
